Auroch Minerals Tisova 2 AOU

Auroch Minerals (ASX:AOU) has received the approval from the authorities to drill twelve holes (5,500 meters) on its Tisova mine project, a VMS system which was mined in the sixties for copper. According to the company, the currently known orebody extends over a strike length of 800 meters and is approximately 80 meters thick.

The zones surrounding the copper zones have never been thoroughly explored, but Auroch has released some assay results from a sampling program with grades up to 0.68% cobalt, 3.5% copper and 3.7 g/t gold. ‘Up to’ is the key word here as the average copper grade when the deposit was mined was just 0.68% copper. That being said, it’s an interesting project, and as drilling has started a few weeks ago for a first four-hole drill program which has been designed to tackle the thicker sulphide zones. We could see some preliminary assay results by the end of this month.
