NV Gold (NVX.V) has announced it will be doubling its drill program at its Sandy gold project in Nevada to 3,100 meters from the originally planned 1,500 meters. The company has decided to do so after receiving the results of a rock grab sampling program on the property. Although this was just a small sampling program, the company did encounter a zone of anomalous gold and was even able to report double digit gold grades.

This, combined with the visuals from the RC drill hole cuttings where the company seems to have intersected altered rock and quartz vein material, made the decision to increase the size of the drill program pretty easy. As NV Gold reported the increased drill program on Tuesday February 9th and it had already completed almost 2,700 meters of drilling at that point, the Sandy drill program should be completed pretty soon. Labs are still massively backed up and it could be up to thee months (!) before we see the assay results.
