West Point Gold (WPG.V) has released the assay results from the first two holes that were drilled on Tyro Northeast, part of the flagship Gold Chain project in Arizona. Both holes intersected gold mineralization with hole GC25-80 encountering 44.2 meters of 1.11 g/t gold  including almost 17 meters of 2.43 g/t gold. But the really impressive hole is hole GC25-81 which returned 36.6 meters of 7.35 g/t gold, including 25.9 meters of 9.95 g/t gold.

And surprisingly, the grade is pretty consistent; if  you look at the table below which provides the 1.5 meter intervals, you can see there is very little smearing of the grade. If we look at the 25.9 meters from 167.6 meters to 193.5 meters and take out the 3 highest grade intervals (three times 1.5 meters at respectively 21.9 g/t, 19.7 g/t and 16.3 g/t), the remaining 21.4 meters would still carry an average grade of around 8 g/t gold.

Those are underground grades encountered within what would be a conceptual open pit shell considering the interval was encountered from just under 162 meters downhole on. Keep in mind the company has no resource estimate yet (so the assumption the mineralization will be captured in a pit shell is entirely our expectation), but it will likely publish a maiden resource in Q1 2026 followed by an update later in 2026.

These two holes are the first holes to follow up on previously encountered high grade gold and both holes have now extended the mineralization downwards by 50 to 70 meters. This allows West Point Gold to build tonnage and ounces really fast and we are looking forward to seeing the company confirm our expectations in the maiden resource calculation in 2026.
