Blue Jay Gold (JAY.V) has released the first assay results from five holes drilled as part of its summer exploration program on its flagship Steller Gold project. Three holes were drilled at Skukum Creek with an additional two holes completed on Mt Skukum (of which one came up empty). The table below provides the breakdown of the assay results. True widths are approximately 60-80% of the reported widths.

Hole SC-26-003 at Skukum Creek returned the headline result. With 14 meters of 6.15 g/t gold and 124 g/t silver (for a gold-equivalent grade of 8.04 g/t), hole 3 doesn’t just contain high-grade, the location of the hole is also important, as it confirms mineralization more than 30 meters down plunge from a historical hole that was drilled in 2021. This confirms the exploration theory for that part of the Skukum Creek prospect, as the drill hole was specifically designed to test for mineralization at the Rainbow Zone at depth and down-plunge.

Within that 14 meter interval, the drill bit intersected even higher grade zones with for instance 4.4 meters of 12 g/t gold and 258 g/t silver. And even if you would isolate this 4.4 meter interval from the remaining 9.6 meters, those 9.6 meters would still carry an average gold-equivalent grade of just over 4.4 g/t.

Holes 1 and 4 at Skukum Creek also returned mineralization with respectively 4.33 meters of 5.76 g/t AuEq and 1 meter of1.15 g/t gold-equivalent. The company mentioned hole 4 at Skukum Creek deviated from its planned trajectory and did not reach its intended target. That hole will be re-drilled in the future to further drill-test the continuity of the gold-silver mineralization.

At Mt Skukum, a narrow interval of 0.5 meters of 58.07 g/t gold-equivalent was encountered on the site of the past-producing Mt Skukum gold mine.

Blue Jay has now also completed hyperspectral logging of 18,000 meters of core, and this has now resulted in a reliable vectoring tool. According to the company’s technical team, there is a consistent, zoned alteration envelope wrapped around the mineralized structures. This has generated new targets along the Skukum Creek Structural Corridor.

It’s still early days for Blue Jay Gold at its Steller gold project in the Yukon Territory, and we are looking forward to seeing additional drill data as the company is completing up to 16,000 meters of drilling.
