Avrupa Minerals (AVU.V) has released the assay results of five holes drilled on the Alvalade project in Portugal, where MATSA (a private Spanish company) is earning an interest. The headline result is coming from hole 33  which intersected 0.42% copper, 3.12% zinc-lead, 0.58 g/t gold and 39.3 g/t silver but hole 36 is a good runner-up with 17 meters of 0.39% copper, 3.21% zinc-lead 0.4 g/t gold and 34.1 g/t silver. The mineralization of both holes is located within a wider zone of sulphide veins and the data of all five holes will help the joint venture partners to get a better understanding of the structural controls of the mineralization.

The system is relatively complicated as hole 37, which was aiming to figure out the mineralization down dip from the 8 Lens didn’t yield any satisfying results as the sulphide body was thinning at depth. The assay results of this hole haven’t been published yet, and Avrupa is expecting to release results by the end of this month. Hole 38 is also in the works, and that hole will be targeting the strike potential to the south of the currently known mineralized zone.
