Quimbaya Gold (QIM.C) has provided a technical update on the drill program at its Tahami Center prospect in Colombia’s Segovia district. Quimbaya completed almost 2,930 meters of drilling in six holes, and all six holes have intersected a copper-molybdenum porphyry system. While assays are pending, Quimbaya’s update provides useful background information, with the most important elements summarized in the bullet points below.
CEO Boivin sounds upbeat as all six initial holes have intersected the porphyry system as predicted by the exploration model. The drilling has given Quimbaya’s technical team the alteration zoning and principal intramineral porphyry, and this should help guide future drill programs within the porphyry system.
The seventh hole of the program has now already been collared and drilling will commence soon.
Keep in mind the update is referring to alteration and lithological intervals, and only the assay results (which are expected to be released at the end of this month or in early October) will confirm whether or not the drill intervals are mineralized.
