West Point Gold (WPG.V) released more assay results last week as part of its 10,000 meter drill program on the flagship Gold Chain project in Arizona. Last week’s release contained the assay results for six holes for a total of 471 meters. Those six holes were indeed very shallow holes as they were designed to determine the continuity of the mineralization from surface down to previous drill results. This should fill in some blanks with additional mineralization and have a positive impact on the maiden resource calculation which is slated for 2026 by converting waste into rock with an average grade exceeding standard cutoff grades. This increases the mineralized envelope and should have a positive impact on the strip ratio.

The assay results in the table above confirm the continuity and consistency of the mineralization as all holes intersected a thick layer of mineralization with almost all assay results coming in at or above 1 g/t. The results in hole GC25-71 are excellent with almost 81 meters of 1.23 g/t gold and even if you would exclude the 10.7 meters at 2.95 g/t (which almost starts at surface), the residual 70 meters still contain almost a gram of gold per tonne of rock. And as the true widths are estimated to be 70-90% of the reported widths, these results will help to increase the tonnage pretty fast.

Drilling is now continuing below the high-grade zone on the northeastern side of Tyro, and we are looking forward to see additional drill results soon.
