Arena Minerals (AN.V) has released the assay results from exploratory drill hole R-03 on the Barreal II claim block on the northern end of the Sal de la Puna lithium project in the Pastos Grandes Basin in Argentina’s Salta province.

The hole intersected two separate brine acquifers with 90 meters of 538 mg/l Lithium and a more impressive interval of 255 meters containing 641 mg/l Lithium with a portion of the second aquifer containing a grade of just under 700 mg/l, the highest recorded grade in the Basin. Additionally, the second aquifer remains open at depth as the hole was stopped at a depth of 620 meters due to capacity of the drill rig. Equally important to the grades are the impurity levels: with a Mg:Li ratio of 5.5, the magnesium to lithium ratio is in line with other  projects in the Pastos Grandes basin.
