Minera Alamos MAI Santana

Minera Alamos (MAI.V) has now completed the second phase of its heap leach test work at the Santana gold project, which was owned by Corex Gold before the merger. This second phase was focusing on the anticipated recovery rates of fine crushed ore (compared to coarse crushing in the first phase of the test work), and after a three month leach period, approximately 190 ounces of gold were recovered from 9,000 tonnes of material (indicating a recoverable gold grade of 0.65 g/t gold).

According to CEO Koningen, the recovery rates have exceeded the expectations and now 35,000 tonnes of material have been processed, Minera Alamos should be pretty confident about the leach kinetics at Santana. The company will now further optimize its plans, incorporate the data from the most recent drill program in a mine plan and then advance Santana towards production in 2019.
