Blue Jay Gold (JAY.V) of course remains fully focused on the high-grade gold and silver mineralization at its Steller Gold Project, but the management isn’t blind for other opportunities that present themselves on the extensive land package.
The company has now completed additional work on the Becker-Cochran antimony showing, and the initial metallurgical test work resulted in a flow sheet where 94% of the antimony gets recovered into a concentrate with an average grade of 67%. That concentrate grade handsomely beats the 60% threshold required for a ‘premium’ concentrate product. Additionally, as even pure stibnite contains ‘just’ 71.7% antimony, concentrate with a 67% grade approaches mineralogical purity levels.
A portion of the concentrate was subsequently sent to three processing groups for further downstream processing, and as all three groups are looking for a long-term supply of antimony, we hope the additional test work on their end will reconfirm the appeal of Blue Jay’s concentrate. The initial results from these three groups is expected t be received within the next few weeks. Additionally, Blue Jay Gold is waiting for the assay results of the ten hole drill program at Becker-Cochran, where the holes were designed to test the down-dip continuation of the mineralized shear zone below the historical workings.
While the company’s focus of course remains on the gold and silver mineralization, the initial met work results at Becker-Cochran confirm the company’s stance that Steller should be seen as a district rather than a single project. So far, the district holds a past-producing mine, two additional gold-silver deposits in different styles while the antimony potential is now also being validated.
