At the end of last month, Alpha Exploration (ALEX.V) released several exploration updates on the Aburna gold prospect, which is part of its Kerkasha exploration license. In a first update, the company released the assay results from 19 reverse circulation drill holes and four drill hole extensions (also RC) completed on the Hill 52 and Central Target areas. Some of the highlights from that release were quite interesting with for instance 34 meters containing 1.5 g/t gold and 8 meters containing 3.67 g/t gold in the Central Area (there were also some lower-grade drill results with for instance 45 meters of 0.6 g/t and 29 meters of 0.98 g/t). The true width is unknown at this point but the company estimates the true width to be approximately 80% of the reported widths.

The drill results have now expanded the strike length of the mineralization in the Central Area from 120 meters to 220 meters while the additional drill results from the Hill 52 area helped the company to more than double its strike length from 200 meters to 460 meters. At Hill 52, some of the holes contained high-grade gold results as well with for instance 5 meters of 6.31 g/t gold in hole ABR039 while other highlighted holes intersected 12 meters of 2.12 g/t gold and 21 meters of 1.04 g/t gold.

Interestingly, the expanded strike length of two zones has resulted in an updated exploration theory as the technical team now thinks both the Central and Hill 52 area could actually merge into one large zone. This is just a theory for now, and Alpha Exploration will need to complete additional drilling to further verify this exploration theory.

Just a few days after releasing the assay results from the Central Target and Hill 52, Alpha exploration also released an update on the assay results from the ten RC holes it drilled on the Northeast Target, for a total of almost 1,200 meters of drilling.

Alpha Exploration was able to extend the strike length of the mineralization here as well, as CEO Michael Hopley was quoted saying the strike length increased from 90 meters to 185 meters. As this area is located just 1.3 kilometers from the Central Target, Alpha Exploration will investigate the potential of both areas merging into one large area as well (and of course, more drilling will be required to confirm (or dismiss) this theory.

The Northeast Zone may extend further towards the northeast as a recent soil sampling program has confirmed a 2.5 kilometer long soil anomaly. Additional drilling on this anomaly appears to be warranted as well.
