Kirkland Lake Gold (KGI.TO, LON:KGI) has produced 41,252 ounces gold in the first quarter of its stub year. The company has milled almost 95,000 tonnes of ore and as the average head grade was almost half an ounce of gold per tonne of rock and the recovery rate was in excess of 95%.

According to Kirkland Lake, this was a quarterly production record due to a 7% higher grade and this (combined with an excellent two final months of the quarter) was sufficient to compensate for a lower production rate in the first month of the quarter.
