Proto Resources (ASX:PRW) has announced the approval for a program of work on their 50%-owned Mt. Vetters project, which allows Proto to drill two RC-holes till a depth of approximately 350 meters. The company applied for these deeper holes as the previous rounds of drilling were too shallow to intersect the komatiite basement, which might indicate nickel sulphide targets.

Mt. Vetters is just five kilometers south of the Silver Swan mine which was one of the highest-grade nickel mines in the world with an average grade of 9.5% Nickel. Proto hopes to find the same high-grade nickel mineralization with its two deep RC holes.
