While we are still waiting to see the assay results from the Tahami Center porphyry drill program, Quimbaya Gold  (QIM.C) isn’t wasting any time and has kicked off its Phase 2 drill program on the S and V vein systems at Tahami South. This drill program is designed to follow up on the results from Phase 1 when both vein systems were found, and the new phase will focus on the geometry and the continuity of the veins.

As part of its announcement, Quimbaya Gold also released the assay results from nine intervals that had not been released before. The table below highlights all relevant gold and silver intervals. The best results were already previously released in January 2026, and the newly reported intervals indicate quite a bit of smoke but the intervals were not as good as the 0.9 meters of 8.03 g/t gold-equivalent and 1 meter of 8.4 g/t gold-equivalent that were previously reported on.

But that’s exploration. Some holes will be good, others won’t be great. Sometimes a project works out, and sometimes it doesn’t. It’s very encouraging to see Quimbaya was effectively able to hit the veins and encounter anomalous (and high-grade) mineralization in its very first drill program. The data from Phase 2 will be helpful to further determine the approach at Tahami South, and to start chasing the higher grade mineralization.

Meanwhile, the initial assay results from the Tahami Center drill program where Quimbaya is targeting a copper porphyry discovery, should hopefully be released in the next few weeks.
