Silver X Mining (AGX.V) released the assay results of a channel sampling program on its Cauca vein, part of the Tangana land package. The Cauca vein is actually outcropping and has been traced for a length of about 2.2 kilometers with an average width of 1.8 meters.

Silver X has released the assay results from 49 channel samples taken along the outcrop of the vein, and some of the results are mind-boggling with for instance 1.6 meters of 1297 g/t silver-equivalent and 2.79 meters containing 829 g/t silver equivalent. There are some higher grade silver intervals but some of the samples also seem to have elevated lead and zinc results. Sample 31, for instance, contains 8.11% lead and 3.05% zinc, while sample 17 contained the highest lead value (17.91%). You can find the assay results of all samples here.

While we shouldn’t read too much into a channel sampling program, these results are definitely encouraging and the surface expression of the Cauca vein appears to be richer than the nearby Tangana veins. And as Cauca is literally just a few hundred meters away from the existing Tangana underground mining operations, it should be easy enough to reach the underground structures of Cauca as Silver X is working on developing an underground access to the Cauca vein from the existing operations.

The Cauca sampling results seem to be a testament to how prolific the entire district is. And the Tangana and Cauca veins are just a few of the dozens of veins that have already been encountered on the property.
