Aztec Minerals (AZT.V) has now completed in excess of 963 meters of drilling in the first seven of an 11 hole drill program on its flagship Cervantes project in Sonora. According to the company, RC chip logging has indicated the presence of favorable geology to support the potential expansion of the gold zone mineralization near and around the core mineralized area. The map below shows the exact locations of the seven new holes, which were all drilled on the California main zone.

The location of the holes at the outskirts of the known mineralization clearly indicates the company is ‘building tonnage’ as it wants to define the limits of the mineralized system. And by drilling holes right around the edges of the known mineralization, the company can ‘beef up’ certain sections and we are mainly looking forward to the assay results of holes 33 and 37, as those appear to be testing larger areas without known mineralization.
