Mining Top 2011 - Roundup
2011 was an extremely disappointing year, as the Mining Top 25 closed with a return of -22.215%, underperforming the S&P by 18.89%, but outperforming the TSX Venture by 15.72%. We obviously expected a much better return, especially from our number 1-pick Empire Mining.

Columbus Gold Corp.
By acquiring the Paul Isnard-project, Columbus Gold turned overnight from an explorer into an emerging developer. We are quite confident the current drill program will be successful, and are aiming for a 4Moz resource estimate within the next 18-24 months.

Goldgroup Mining Inc. - Site Visit
We attended Goldgroup Mining's site visit to the Caballo Blanco-project in the Veracruz State, Mexico. Before attending, we recently reported that Goldgroup had achieved an excellent deal by acquiring the 30% interest in the project that it didn't hold yet.

Excelsior Mining Corp.
Excelsior continues to de-risk the ISR copper project, and the upcoming PEA should put the company on the radar. We expect several additional hydrological test holes to be completed over the next year, and each one should add more confidence to the project.

Goldgroup Mining Inc.
We are impressed with the Caballo Blanco and San José-projects, as both are potential near-term production assets, with extraordinary profitability. We are looking forward to the resource updates, and the outcome of the NI43 feasibility studies, which should confirm the estimated economics.

Edgewater Exploration Ltd.
Egewater Exploration is a mineral exploration and development company with gold assets in prolific gold regions Ghana West Africa and La Coruña, Spain. The company currently has an EV of approx. 32M. With 18M in the treasury, this is one of the few junior mining companies with a decent war chest.

Astra Mining Ltd. is a diversified global resource company with interests in coal, gold and iron ore, diversified over several countries worldwide. Their main asset is the 30% interest in the Intellectual Property of T-Steel, a process that reduces the production costs for steel and improves its strength.

With a 50.8 million ounce silver resource at its Tejamen Property and an experienced mine development team, Oremex Resources Inc. is an up and coming silver producer in Mexico. The vast central mineral belt has made Mexico one of the largest silver producers in the world.

Overland Resources Limited is an Australian listed exploration and development company with offices in Perth and Vancouver. The company is focused on advancing their Yukon Base Metal Project and in particular their high grade Andrew Zinc Deposit located in Canada.

Our Mining Top 25 number 1, Empire Mining, announced drill results of their Bursa copper-project last week. As the share price has fallen since the release, we would like to give our opinion of last week's drill results, as well as giving a general update on their flagship project.

Cuoro Resources Corp.
Our attention is immediately drawn to CuOro's crown project, and probable company-maker. The Santa Elena copper-gold project is a system with a historic non-NI43 101 compliant resource estimate of 1.1B lbs of copper, at an average copper grade of 1.88%.

Empire Mining Corp. - Update
After the outstanding drillhole on the Bursa project in Turkey, we probably have to revise our opinion regarding the exploration programme. Whereas we attributed zero value to the Bursa project, we should now keep in mind this could be an extremely promising copper-project.

Golden Alliance Resources Corp.
We are looking forward to the drill results from Cocha, and the start of the 2011 drill program on the Rio Tabaconas Project. As the company's market cap is only a fully-diluted 13.3M dollars, there could be significant upside potential if they can deliver more exceptional drillholes.

Andover Ventures Inc.
Objectives for Andover Ventures are to upgrade historic resources at Burgin Mine's to NI 43-101 compliant resources, to restart production of the high-grade Trixie Gold Mine and to advance infrastructure logistics for their SUN deposit in Alaska.
